Bee Hive
For all the lovers of Natural History, bees and honey, I have created a larger sculpture to celebrate the bee-autiful shape of the hive.
Carved from close to 200 pages of miscellaneous rescued vintage books, this piece will add an unexpected dimensionality to your bookshelf.
The glass cloche measures approx. 10cm in diameter and is approx. 15cm tall.
All the information of the book it was carved from is on the base so that its’ history is always kept with it.
When I make the Secret Vintage Booksafes I try not to waste any of the paper i carve out and re-use it to make these endearing three dimensional book sculptures for the bookish amongst us. Sometimes the sculptures capture the blank edges and sometimes they carve through the lettering giving each one an individuality of tones. They are a delightful addition to bookshelves and mantles and great gifts for the book lovers.
