Description
For all the lovers of nature, this little nest egg is made from a real nest and a real book!
Blown down from its’ tree, the nest was infact retrieved by Cameron Daddo on a golfing trip and kindly given to my husband to gift to me for my art.
I try to make these nest eggs only when serendipitously found nests find me, so they are rare and very special when they happen.
A novel anecdote for you!
Carved from 260 pages of: That Girl by Ethel Turner 1920
This will surely add an unexpected dimensionality to your bookshelf and nest.
The birds are a mixture of Australian honey eaters and song birds.
The glass cloche measures 9cm in diameter and is 19cm tall.
All the information of the book it was carved from is on the base so that its’ history is always kept with it.
When I make the Secret Vintage Booksafes I try not to waste any of the paper i carve out and re-use it to make these endearing three dimensional book sculptures for the bookish amongst us. They are a delightful addition to bookshelves and mantles and great gifts for the book lovers and lovers of a vintage aesthetic.
