PARTRIDGE IN A PEAR
This Medium Book Sculpture is adorable!
Carved from 154 pages of a:
1927 Edition of Blackie’s Boy’s Annual by Blackie and Sons.
Book spiralling works best with symmetrical shapes and this little festive pear is no exception!
Containing a double-sided partridge illustration, it is neutral enough to have on display year round!
A mini cloche with all the information of the books it was carved from on the base so that its’ history is always kept with it.
(The cloche measures 6.7cm in diameter and is 10.5cm tall.)
When I make the Secret Vintage Booksafes I try not to waste any of the paper i carve out and re-use it to make these endearing three dimensional book sculptures for the bookish amongst us. They are a delightfully dimensional addition to bookshelves and mantles and great gifts for the book lovers.
