An original analog collage created with ephemera from Foolhouse’s private collection.
‘Curiouser’ uses parts of carefully curated illustrations from a variety of vintage Alice in Wonderland books, combined to tell a new story with Lewis Carroll’s words of old. They are integrated into a made-over 1915 vintage book cover called ‘London’ working with the dismantled book to integrate unique handmade details such as stitches using my mother’s vintage sewing box, carefully curated book illustrations and paper weaving. I found amusing sentences amongst the pages that surround me and wove it into a new meaning. It seems only right that it should be celebrated and brought out of books and into the light. A dimensional Wonderland.
Mounted on Heavy Watercolour Paper and framed. 25cm x 36cm a 4cm.
