An original analog collage created with ephemera from Foolhouse’s private collection.
‘Resilience’ uses parts of carefully curated illustrations from a variety of vintage books, combined to tell a new story with the words of old. They are integrated into a made-over 1908 vintage book cover that has original markings with unique handmade details such as stitches using my mother’s vintage sewing box, carefully curated antique veterinary medical illustrations and antique book spines . The illustrations were so charming I had to construct a tribute to them and their resilient unbreakable nature, yet as fragile as a torn page from a notebook.
Mounted on Heavy Watercolour Paper and framed. 28cm x 36cm x 4cm.
