Description
Mary Darcy – part of my Tudors Collection and a most prominent historical figure from the Tudor era (born Mary Kitson, c. 1565–1644). A wealthy English noblewoman and sole heiress.
These Book Sculpture figures are individually carved from rescued vintage books that are worthy of being turned into this pageantry.
Please note that the photos shown in this listing are indicative of the finished product. Each skirt, depending on what book, or part of the book is used will appear a little different due to variation in paragraphs and guttering and there will be slight variations in the silhouette texture as I carve frills and flounces randomly depending on the maleability of the book. The overall shape remains the same and the Queens from the waist up will always be the same. (Open Book Carving shown in photo is not included)
On the base of each of these figures is a label noting the book it was carved from, its’ date and number of pages used. It is the perfect gift for a bookish treasured friend or your very own book shelf.
I created these sculptures to re-use the blocks of paper that I had left over after carving out my vintage books as book safes, I like nothing going to waste. Each one is One-of-a-kind and add an unexpected dimension to your bookshelf. They are made to order so please allow approximately 2 weeks plus postage travel time.
The glass cloche measures approx. 9cm in diameter and is 19cm tall.
