FIVE FALL INTO ADVENTURE
One-of-a-Kind!
One of my more complex book sculptures created from a 1951 edition of Enid Blyton’s Famous Five series! A nostalgic adventure with Dick, George, Julian, Ann and Timmy.
All illustrations and text are taken from the book and arranged as a story in the round! All the characters names are located on the decorative flags and the name and edition of the book can be seen on the Hot Air Balloon basket so that you will always know where it came from.
The balloon measures approx 17cm in diameter and is approx. 40 cm tall (including ladder) and comes with a loop for hanging.
Where you hang it is up to you!
When I do my bookwork I try not to waste any of the paper i carve out and thus re-use it to make these endearing three dimensional book sculptures for the bookish amongst us. Any foxing, discolouration or awkwardness is a product of creating with pre-loved materials and I believe adds character with a wink and a nod to ages past.
