AN ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM
We all have one don’t we?!
Carved from 180 pages of a 1944 Edition of The Dare Club by I. Plunket, this cheeky little double-sided circus elephant is a reminder to smile and keep life in perspective.
Each book sculpture turns inside-out a little differently, sometimes the sculpture captures the blank edges and sometimes they are carved through the lettering giving each one an individuality of tones. No single sculpture is alike.
(The cloche measures 6.7cm in diameter and is 10.5cm tall.)
These sculptures were created to use up any paper removed in the making of my Secret Vintage Booksafes. I try not to waste any of the paper i carve out and these endearing three dimensional book sculptures were the result. They are a wonderful dimension on your bookshelf for the bookish amongst us.
