Description

One of my curious one-of-a-kind book sculptures framed in a Corban and Blair Box Frame.

Carved from 250 pages of a 1950’s Commander Story Annual for Boys.

Edited by Eric Leyland.

Chapter: The Forest Patrol, the Mad Month by Jim Kjelgaard -of which the front page is glued to the rear for context.

This leaf was carved for an exhibition called ‘Sculptures in the Gardens’ held at Sydney’s Botanic Gardens and was part of a collection called Leaves from a Book.

I love how the column gutter forms the spine of the leaf.

These 3 dimensional artworks sit easily on a shelf or hang simply on a wall nestled amongst other mixed gallery artworks, adding interest and texture.
