This listing shows the limited edition collection of the bookish Anne Shirley that I have carved from the writings of L.M.Montgomery. This illustration of Anne was the original depiction by M.A. and W.A. Claus in 1908. Each one turns inside-out a little differently, sometimes the sculpture captures the blank edges and sometimes they are carved through the lettering giving each one an individuality of tones. No single sculpture is alike and will add an unexpected dimensionality to your bookshelf or a lovely gift for the bookish.
All the information of the book it was carved from is on the base so that its’ history is always kept with it. (The glass dome measures 5.5cm in diameter and is 8cm tall.)
When I make the Secret Vintage Booksafes I try not to waste any of the paper i carve out and re-use it to make these endearing three dimensional book sculptures for the bookish amongst us. They are a delightful addition to bookshelves and mantles and great gifts for the book lovers.
